MX65 Series HSD-compatible Connectors for High-speed Transmission for In-vehicle Information and Communication Devices by JAE electronics

JAE has developed the MX65 Series, European standard HSD-compatible connector for high-speed transmission between in-vehicle information and communication technology (ICT) devices.

Recently, multi-function and high-performance ICT in the automotive market has been progressing rapidly. An increase in high-performance cameras and sensors is expected to be required to support new technology such as ADAS, autonomous driving, and connected car.

These advances have resulted in the increase in the volume of the information, and high-speed transmission is essential for processing such large-volume information.

We have developed the MX65 Series, which is compatible with the popular HSD-connectors that are commonly used in Europe, for high-speed transmission.

The demand for HSD connectors is expected to grow not only in Europe, but also in markets such as China where in-vehicle products and modules incorporating HSD connectors are deployed.

This product features a double-sided lever spring structure for the locking portion, which increases reliability of the lock and reduces the occurrence of deformation of the locking area.

In addition, the end face (edge) of the connector has a curved surface shape, and is designed to be friendly to the assembler.

Furthermore, the pin-side in-line connector is designed so that clips can be attached to fix the cable harness to the body, etc.

JAE will further expand the variety of European standard products that have become widespread worldwide.

This product will be displayed at the AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING EXPOSITION held in Pacifico Yokohama on May 23.

Note) This product is sold only as a cable harness and is not provided as an individual connector.

Features

  • Compatible with various types of differential signals such as vehicle LVDS, and USB2. 0.
  • Compatible with STQ cables
  • 2 Differential signal channels or differential signal 1 channel + two power supply lines
    Lock on the socket connector is a double-sided lever spring structure that is integrated with the housing, preventing the cable being caught and the deformation of the lock. (Not applicable for the 12.7mm pitch 2-row type)
  • The pin side in-line type connector can be held in place with a clip when fixing to the body, etc.
  • The end surface (edge portion) of the connector is curved, with consideration for the assembler.
  • The external housing can be installed after installation to allow the small-diameter hole to pass through when mounting or routing the product to the vehicle.
  • (However, caution will be required when handling contact spring part of the outer conductor on the socket side. Waterproof type is not applicable.)
